Papp Logistics Sets the Course for Growth in Contract Logistics With Boltrics WMS

Papp Logistics specializes in complex goods flows in European food retail. With the goal of future-proofing its own third-party logistics (3PL) processes, the logistics provider chose the warehouse management system (WMS) from Boltrics. Implementation was carried out by the German reseller and long-standing partner of Papp Logistics: dicobis.

Operating multiple warehouse sites with high daily order volumes in retail, Papp Logistics faced the challenge of overhauling historically grown workflows and long onboarding processes for new customers. The clear requirement for the company's new WMS was therefore: standardize processes more strongly, onboard new customers more efficiently, and thereby enable further growth.

We know dicobis from various projects and particularly value their deep understanding of our processes. Combined with their expertise around Microsoft Dynamics, it was quickly clear to us that we wanted to take this step together.

Experience and Trust as the Basis for the Decision

The decision for dicobis was based on the already long-standing and successful collaboration with the service provider and ERP expert for retail.

On dicobis' recommendation, Papp Logistics chose the WMS from Boltrics. The decisive factor was above all the solution's high degree of standardization: the most important 3PL requirements are already covered in the standard, largely eliminating elaborate custom development. At the same time, the best-practice approach of Boltrics in collaboration with dicobis ensures that enhancements arising from use at other logistics providers flow continuously into the solutions already implemented.

For us, this means we don't have to start from zero every time, but benefit from established best practices while having access to current innovations.

We are deliberately moving away from individual point solutions toward an end-to-end platform. That puts us in a position to onboard new customers significantly faster, standardize processes across sites, and stay stable through growth or seasonal peaks.

Local Partnership for a Global Solution

The technical foundation of the new system is Microsoft Dynamics 365. Building on that, the Boltrics WMS offers industry-specific functions such as multi-client capability, automated billing, and seamless integration into retail systems. The extensive standard functionality enabled Papp Logistics to work productively faster and achieve its return on investment.

The “fixed-time” implementation approach also played an important role: through the structured, clearly time-boxed implementation, supported by dicobis, the project was delivered reliably within 3 months – significantly faster than classic WMS implementations, which usually take 9 to 12 months.

Holger Lüke, CEO of dicobis, explains: “Our ambition is to support customers not only technologically, but also conceptually. Combined with the established Boltrics solution, we can deliver projects lean while ensuring high process quality.”

With the new WMS, Papp Logistics lays the foundation for further growth. The company can integrate new customers faster and reliably maintain its service level even across the varying requirements of its European customers.

In concrete terms, the new WMS delivers for Papp Logistics:

  • up to 50% faster integration of new customers
  • more efficient workflows through standardized processes
  • better scalability during seasonal peaks of more than 30% additional volume
  • fewer manual interventions and lower error susceptibility
