How AI Agents are Reshaping ERP Development – BC TechDays 2026

AI agents now take on entire development steps in Business Central, fundamentally changing the role of the developer. dicobis' key takeaways from the BC TechDays 2026 in Antwerp – and why this shift already delivers tangible advantages for ERP projects today.
On 11 and 12 June 2026, Antwerp hosted the BC TechDays 2026 – the leading conference around the technical development of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, which each year brings together more than a thousand developers and technical decision-makers from around 46 countries. dicobis developers Marvin and Kevin participated at the conference as well. Right from the center of the developments that will shape Business Central in the years to come, they bring this first-hand knowledge straight into dicobis projects.
The Changing Role of a BC Developer
One theme ran through nearly every session this year: AI agents. Microsoft's keynote showed live how an agent takes shape inside Business Central. As a result, the developer's role is shifting noticeably. Rather than writing every line of code themselves, developers design and configure specialized agents – e.g. for architecture, programming or code review – that build entire Business Central solutions on their own. Programming increasingly becomes a matter of designing, steering and reviewing.
Where Does dicobis Stand? At the forefront.
Because this is exactly the path dicobis already follows. The company has built its own network of specialized AI agents that handle complete development steps autonomously. Its developers design, configure and steer these agents in a targeted way.
In our Business Central projects, we already deploy agents productively and with demonstrable success – we're right at the forefront here. My own role has changed fundamentally as a result: I used to mainly write code; today I administer agents and review their output."

For dicobis customers, this pays off twice: the agents handle routine tasks in a fraction of the time they used to require – shortening project timelines and ensuring consistently high implementation quality as a result. The capacity this frees up flows to where it makes the greatest difference: a deep understanding of processes.
Agentic development is moving from a topic for the future to everyday practice in the Business Central world. dicobis actively shapes this shift and stands alongside its customers as a partner that carries the results directly into their projects. Yet none of it works without developer expertise:
What will keep its importance is the developer who understands, on a technical level, what the agents are doing – without that understanding, agentic BC-development wouldn’t work."
